While no new Joao Gilberto album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1995 tour in Asia. This is one of the best Cd’s Joao Gilberto has dropped to date. Lead single “Eu Sei Que Vou Te Amar” and “Desafinado” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
Desafinado had me crying as I was able to relate so well. Song Voce No Sabe Amar is actually a funny song. Best song on the album, love it. Rosa Morena - a classic song. Le Vem a Baiana is a song to enjoy for years to come. Pra Que Discutir Com Madame - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Isto Aqui o Que ? is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. Meditato is a great opener for Ao vivo - Eu sei que vou te amar. I love the melodic melody of Da Cor do Pecado and to this day it makes me feel good. Guacyra gives taste of what makes Joao Gilberto special as a musician. I listened to the opening track Se Por Falta de Adeus and liked it a lot. Chega de Saudade make listening to Joao Gilberto like being in some sort of time warp. A Valsa de Quem No Tem Amor is a bit of a show-tune. Corcovado without a doubt is the standout song of Ao vivo - Eu sei que vou te amar. Joao Gilberto allows each song to breathe and flourish. O Amor em Paz is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music.
