It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Jimmy Reed energies, virtually a rebirth. There is so much to love about Jimmy Reed, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Live at Carnegie Hall/The Best of Jimmy Reed carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
I’m Mr. Luck gives taste of what makes Jimmy Reed special as a musician. Although Baby What’s Wrong is very melodic it is far from sad. I like the agression and power of Found Joy. You can find feelings on this piece of art. Jimmy Reed sings his heart out in Aw Shucks, Hush Your Mouth. Some call Tell Me You Love Me from Live at Carnegie Hall/The Best of Jimmy Reed as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Blue Carnegie can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Jimmy Reed is all about. I’m a Love You is one of the best records ever. If you are a Jimmy Reed fan, you will love Hold Me Close. Blue Blue Water on Live at Carnegie Hall/The Best of Jimmy Reed is solid and easy to listen to. I love the melodic melody of Baby, What You Want Me to Do and to this day it makes me feel good. |titile| is a sure sign of something most of us are experiencing, maturity. From the moment you listen to Hush Hush you’re hooked. I now have Found Love as one of my personal favorites. Honest I Do has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. Big Boss Man is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Jimmy Reed released so far. Take Out Some Insurance is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. Boogie in the Dark (2:39) - awsome. Going to New York is simple, dignified and effective, Jimmy Reed refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Ain’t That Lovin’ You Baby one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Sun Is Shining is the album’s biggest hit, I think.
