Album opener The Big Country: Main Title is a bright, upbeat ditty. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in The Big Country. The Big Country: Major Terrill’s Party: Waltz is the more seemingly obscure song on The Big Country that bear up best to repeated listening. The Big Country: Major Terrill’s Party: Polka make listening to Jerome Moross like being in some sort of time warp. I like The Big Country: McKay’s Ride, McKay Is Missing, The Old House because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. The Big Country: Waiting is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. The Big Country: The Big Muddy is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. It’s a great pleasure to listen to The Big Country: McKay Alone, Night At Ladder Ranch, The Fight from the beginning to the end. Jerome Moross breathes new life into the music in The Big Country: Cattle At The River. The Big Country: Attempted Rape is a great opener for The Big Country. The Big Country: The War Party Gathers, McKay In Blanco Canyon, The Major Alone - A catchy, upbeat tune. Excellent vocals and musical performances.
