IF YOU LIKE ALL Jeff Greinke’S SONG GO FOR IT! This album has some very good songs like Plateau and Uprising. On Big Weather album, Jeff Greinke have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Another great offering from Jeff Greinke.
Uprising - A classic Jeff Greinke track. Last Words is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. Jeff Greinke breathes new life into the music in Suspended In Darkness. The first time I listened to The Happy Isles I was struck by its exquisite sound. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Big Weather. Their Secret Game is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Jeff Greinke released so far. Billowing Smoke - For me, this is the best of the album. I think Swimming is the best song Jeff Greinke has ever done. Fallacy - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. River Limba is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Unfamiliar Voices gives taste of what makes Jeff Greinke special as a musician. Exploding White Stars one of the best in my collection. A Dank Place is a great opener for Big Weather. Hot Wire defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Polarities which is my favorite is a truly Jeff Greinke sounding song. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. Spoken With Authority is a bit of a show-tune. Get Big Weather and turn on Dirt Road if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Oceanic Lift good vocals. Dropped is gorgeous song though, very addictive. Orbits is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Swayed is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Big Weather. In Brastagi Night the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. I like to sing along with Travelling Secrets, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. The Well (5:16) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Cirrus is my favorite song on Big Weather.
