Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Jan Garbarek on ‘Red Wind’. It’s natural for Jan Garbarek to take a stab at ‘Red Wind’ considering her long-professed love for 2 Unlimited. Self-described as Jazz with lots of words, Jan Garbarek comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Such great and happy songs.
The first time I listened to The Creek I was struck by its marvelous sound. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. The Healing Smoke stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Visible World (chiaro) is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. Put Desolate Mountains I into car stereo for your highway driving Desolate Mountains II is the albums biggest surprise. Visible World (scuro) is the funkiest number on the album. Giulietta is a very catchy tune. Desolate Mountains III - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Pygmy Lullaby is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. The Quest is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. The Arrow is the album’s biggest hit, I think. In The Scythe the music gets its power. Evening Land is pretty funky and mellow.
