It’s natural for James Last to take a stab at ‘Bolero’ considering her long-professed love for Green Grey. James Last was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from James Last and Classics By Moonlight together. This is the first studio album from James Last since bad diagnosis in 1990. Classics By Moonlight is not something you should pass up.
There is astounding mix of music in Romeo and Juliet. When I listen to Swan Lake in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Nabucco is a bit of a show-tune. You have to get essence of the Rhapsody In Blue’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Cavalleria Rusticana is the more seemingly obscure song on Classics By Moonlight that bear up best to repeated listening. Morning is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. A unique and uplifting song. Mozart 40 is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Voice and instruments in Rhapsody On A Theme Of Paganin complement each other. Spring From The Four Seasons is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Ave Maria is new, fresh, and hypnotizing.
