Lead single “Shlok - Hey Gobind Hey Gopal” and “Muraliya Baje Re Jamuna Ke Teer” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Hey Gobind Hey Gopal carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Since Jagjit Singh last CD (Hey Gobind Hey Gopal) on Sparrow Records back in 1990, I have felt a massive void in my life. IT makes me wanna dance!
Muraliya Baje Re Jamuna Ke Teer is outstanding work of Jagjit Singh. Sab Se Oonchi Prem Sagai on Hey Gobind Hey Gopal is solid and easy to listen to. He Ram He Ram is the first taste of the new album. Once you hear Laaj Rakho Giridhari, you will listen to it over and over. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. Beet Gaye Din Bhajan Bina Re - To me, this is the best song on the Hey Gobind Hey Gopal. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Deenen Dukh Haran Dev Santan Hitkari is the albums biggest surprise. Some of the arrangements found on Hey Gobind Hey Gopal are surprisingly edgy. Maha Mantra is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Jagjit Singh ever produced.
