eleven years ago, Jacobites briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “When Angels Die”. For older fans Old Scarlett will put a massive smile accross your face. This thirteen-song debut EP shows the promise that Jacobites has. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
This track is full of harmonies and gets Old Scarlett off to a relaxing start. Voice of Jacobites in Falling Apart is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. Down On My Own sets the tone for the entire album. Boutique is possibly the best song Jacobites has come up. So much energy, so exciting a sound.I was truly moved when I heard Puppeteer’s Son. Liquor, Guns & Ammo (8:25) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Love’s Cascade is a great opener for Old Scarlett. Penicillin gets you up and jumping. Song Tire Rolling Of The Hearse is actually a funny song. Wasted is pretty funky and mellow.
