It has been three years J. J. Cale’ last studio CD, “Live In London” which won Array MTV Music Awards and was nominated for album of the year. This album has some very good songs like Rivert Boat Song and Ride Me High. I am not a real Blues music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Live In London’ really is amazing. If you want to hear real Blues, get this record now!
Ride Me High is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. The Old Man and Me pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. New Orleans is a great opener for Live In London. This track is full of harmonies and gets Live In London off to a relaxing start. When listening to Call Me The Breeze 6, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. Simple and heartfelt closing track Lies closes Live In London on a high note. After about the third Black Cat listen through, I began to believe this song is J. J. Cale’s essence. I Feel So Bad is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Durango Instrumental motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. Closer To You as a highlight of Live In London contains a ton of gorgeous melodies. Album opener Nowhere To Run is a bright, upbeat ditty. Takin’ Care Of Business good vocals. In After Midnight the music gets its power. This track is just fantastic from start to finish.
