Since Inti-Illimani last CD (The Best Of, 1994) on EMI Records back in 1994, I have felt a massive void in my life. On the Andorra charts, superstar Inti-Illimani’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. While no new Inti-Illimani album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1994 tour in Australia. This album is awesome.
Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. Fiesta De San Benito - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Taita Salasaca is another favourite of mine. Juanito Laguna Remonta Un Barrilete is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. This is probably my favorite song on the album. Polo Doliente is one of the best records ever. Excellent vocals and musical performances. El Guarapo Y La Melcocha is one of my favorite songs by Inti-Illimani. It’s a great pleasure to listen to El Mercado Testaccio from the beginning to the end. Sensemaya, Canto Para Matar Una Culebra - For me, this is the best of the album. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. El Arado - This one is lively and fun. I have all of Inti-Illimani’s tracks and Mulata is probably the most his introspective effort. Music in El Publo Unido James Sere Vencido is perfect as in all tracks of The Best Of, 1994. I hope to keep hearing Inti-Illimani works for a long time to come.
