Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Inti-Illimani on ‘Terna De La Quebrada De Humahu’. Cotopaxi is an amazing album, racked with beauty.Since Inti-Illimani last CD (Cotopaxi) on EMI Records back in 1995, I have felt a massive void in my life. Oh yes, this album gets Array out of Array
Solo De Quena is nothing but pure genius. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. As always, Inti-Illimani’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. A Luis Emilio Recabarren is beautiful, yet underrated track. Palimpsesto have really caught my ear and imagination. I believe Huajra is one of the most gorgeous, heartfelt songs ever written. Inti-Illimani breathes new life into the music in Amores Hallaras. Cueca De La Auscencia had me crying as I was able to relate so well. The song La Marusa ending is my favorite… so catchy! In La Mariposa you won’t find any flashy solos. Mi Chiquita is really a nice song to relax and listen too. Mis Llamitas is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Inti-Illimani released so far. San Juanito is one of the best records ever. Servinaco to me is the best you can get from Inti-Illimani. I loved Acoranzas Pasadas the first time I heard it. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is El Equipaje Del Destierro because the melody in the chorus is so good.
