Since Igor Nikolaev last CD (Malinovoe vino) on Mute Records back in 1994, I have felt a massive void in my life. It’s natural for Igor Nikolaev to take a stab at ‘Bednyy Mocart’ considering her long-professed love for Babylon Zoo. Thom Yorke has compared writing for Igor Nikolaev’s new album to that on ‘Malinovoe vino’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Such great and happy songs.
Den’gi ne v schet is outstanding work of Igor Nikolaev. Strong, powerful vocals of Igor Nikolaev in Liubi menia zavtra are very impressive. Some of the arrangements found on Malinovoe vino are surprisingly edgy. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Moia liubov’ ne umerla actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Igor Nikolaev’s face. Pozdravliaiu to me is the best you can get from Igor Nikolaev. Skripka, igray! is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. Still going through Malinovoe vino and coming to appreciate Uezzhay more and more with every listen. Vykliuchi svet is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood.
