‘The Deep’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. There were many famous songs of Ian Boddy available. It’s natural for Ian Boddy to take a stab at ‘Standing At The Edge’ considering her long-professed love for Babylon Zoo. The Deep touched my soul like nothing else.
Dark Descent is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. The Deep is one of the coolest songs Ian Boddy has ever recorded. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Ian Boddy. Only one song from The Deep named Leviathan really got me. Flow Current Flow is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through The Deep. Sirens Call gets you up and jumping. Aquanaut on The Deep is solid and easy to listen to. Re-Emergence is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. It’s such an underrated song. Sub-Aquiem is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done.
