This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Howlin’ Wolf. There is no doubt that Howlin’ Wolf has talent. four years ago, Howlin’ Wolf briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “How Many More Years”. IT makes me wanna dance!
Blew our minds when we first heard How Many More Years. Howlin’ Wolf Boogie is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Howlin’ Wolf released so far. Music and lyrics of Wolf Is At Your Door creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. The first time I listened to Mr. Highway Man I was struck by its gorgeous sound. I hope to keep hearing Howlin’ Wolf works for a long time to come. Bluebird is the funkiest number on the album. After few listenings I started to like Saddle My Pony more and more. Although That’s All Right (Well) is very melodic it is far from sad. Music of My Last Affair is gentle, never overbearing. The sound in Just My Kind is really warm and Howlin’ Wolf’s signature voice is still very much present. Work For Your Money is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. Mama Died and Left Me - This one makes me want to not only sing along. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. Streamline Woman is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. I can’t stop humming along Crazy About You Baby. Howlin’ Wolf is one of artists that allow his songs like You Gonna Wreck My Life to stand on their own and be heard. Neighbors is outstanding work of Howlin’ Wolf. Howlin’ Wolf Talks #2 is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Howlin’ Wolf has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Rockin’ Daddy sets the tone for the entire album. Baby How Long is simple, dignified and effective, Howlin’ Wolf refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Evil is so unique, as each one of the songs is. I’ll Be Around on The Chess Box CD1 is solid and easy to listen to. Forty-four pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Who Will Be Next was the first single release from the album The Chess Box CD1.
