IF YOU LIKE ALL Howlin’ Wolf’S SONG GO FOR IT! There is so much to love about Howlin’ Wolf, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Lead single “Hidden Charms” and “Three Hundred Pounds Of Joy” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Lots of variety between tracks. My favorite is Three Hundred Pounds Of Joy
No Howlin’ Wolf song has come close to capturing my attention as Three Hundred Pounds Of Joy did. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Howlin’ Wolf Chess Box 1963 to 1973. I hope to keep hearing Howlin’ Wolf works for a long time to come. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. My Country Sugar Mama is beautiful, yet underrated track. Louise is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Howlin’ Wolf released so far. I have all of Howlin’ Wolf’s tracks and I Walked From Dallas is probably the most his introspective effort. Howlin’ Wolf must have run out of lyrics on the next track Tell Me What I’ve Done. Don’t Laugh At Me is possibly the best song Howlin’ Wolf has come up. Ooh Baby (Hold Me) pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. My Mind Is Ramblin’ (2:53) - awsome. Commit A Crime is a very catchy tune. Dust My Broom (I Believe I’ll) - A classic Howlin’ Wolf track. A fantastic track full of wonder. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. Once Mary Sue gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. Hard Luck is a medium tempo tune. The Red Rooster is a song to enjoy for years to come. I like to sing along with Moving, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes.
