It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Hortus Musicus energies, virtually a rebirth. Himmel, Earth, Heaven Erde isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Hortus Musicus. This album is a scorcher!
I like the agression and power of Kyrie Eleison. Lectio Lsaye Prophete makes a person feel astounding. This track is clearly meant to showcase Hortus Musicus’s vocal abilities. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. Sequentia Sancti Evangelii is perfect and different song. The first time I listened to Tollite Portas I was struck by its cool sound. Sanctus is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Ave Maria (1:40) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Hortus Musicus sings his heart out in Ave Maria. Music in Ave Regina is gorgeous as in all tracks of Himmel, Earth, Heaven Erde. Regina Coeli is a bit different from Hortus Musicus stereotypical stuff. Salve Regina is such a marvelous and optimistic song that things can get just better. Veni Creator still maintains something of a specific flourish. Musically Te Deum is superior to other tracks in Himmel, Earth, Heaven Erde.
