Horslips was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Horslips and Horslips Story together. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Horslips’s album Horslips Story falls to No. 2 with 668,000, a sales slide of 91%. On Horslips Story album, Horslips have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. I wish that “Horslips Story” album was instrumental.
Night Town Boy is really a nice song to relax and listen too. Flower Among Them All is the funkiest number on the album. There is cool mix of music in Dearg Doom. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Faster Than The Hounds is my favorite song on Horslips Story. Best Year Of My Life is the albums biggest surprise. Man Who Built America is exquisite and different song. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Horslips. Horslips Story couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Daybreak. Everything Will Be Alright is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. Power And The Glory very upbeat. Put Sword Of Light into car stereo for your highway driving I like the idea behind Warm Sweet Breath Of Love. Speed The Plough is one of these floating songs. Trouble With A Capital T - Okay, I just talked about depth. Shamrock Shore is a great opener for Horslips Story. King Of The Fairies is the most memorable and excellent. High Volume Love is a amazing song and it grows on you. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Horslips Story. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Silver Spear.
