There is so much to love about Henry Mancini, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. This album has some very good songs like The Shadow Of Your Smile and Blue Hawaii. Henry Mancini had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Henry Mancini ever.
Music in Blue Hawaii is exquisite as in all tracks of The Days Of Wine And Roses 3. Simple and heartfelt closing track Two For The Road closes The Days Of Wine And Roses 3 on a high note. I have all of Henry Mancini’s tracks and Something For Audrey is probably the most his introspective effort. French Provincial - A catchy, upbeat tune. A Quiet Happening is worth the money. I Like The Look is one of the coolest songs Henry Mancini has ever recorded. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. Nothing To Lose is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. Within the first few notes of Love Theme From ‘romeo And Juliet’ it’s perfectly clear that Henry Mancini is living this song. Theme From ‘the Molly Maguires’ is the albums biggest surprise. As Time Goes By - a classic song. Whistling Away The Dark is the more seemingly obscure song on The Days Of Wine And Roses 3 that bear up best to repeated listening. Overall a nice softer song. Theme From ‘love Story’ - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Nice and different song. No Henry Mancini song has come close to capturing my attention as Mystery Movie Theme did. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. Theme From ‘the Thief Who Came To Dinner’ is nothing but pure genius. I’ve found myself listening to Henry Mancini & Doc Severinsen- Can’t Get Started back to back and back many times. Ludmilla’s Theme is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. In Oklahoma Crude it becomes nowhere more obvious that Henry Mancini has yet to define own style. I like the idea behind Send A Little Love My Way. Theme From ‘the Grl From Petrovka’ is the most memorable and cool. Theme From ‘the White Dawn’ gets you up and jumping. The sound in Bumper’s Theme is really warm and Henry Mancini’s signature voice is still very much present. First time I heard What’s Happening!! was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.I came to like Silver Streak.
