Since completing 1995’s ‘Peter Gunn’, Henry Mancini fulfilled their contract with EMI Records and where under no obligation to release another album. I am not a real Instrumental music type of person, but i have to admit ‘The Days Of Wine And Roses 1′ really is amazing. Now signed to Henry Mancini’s EMI Records, the title track from second album “The Days Of Wine And Roses 1″ leads Henry Mancini’s back-to-school campaign. Henry Mancini is one of my favourite bands of all time.
This track is clearly meant to showcase Henry Mancini’s vocal abilities. Slow And Easy is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through The Days Of Wine And Roses 1. A Profound Gass is one of these floating songs. I like the idea behind Walkin’ Bass. My Manne Shelly is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. In Blues For Mother’s Henry Mancini spins a tale you want to hear to the end. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. Big Noise From Winnetka is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. One listen to the sheer beauty of Mr. Lucky was all I needed. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Blue Satin is perfect. A Powdered Wig is probably the highlight of the album. High Time hits the heart. Opening track The Second Time Around shows the best of Henry Mancini. So much energy, so exciting a sound.Rain Drops In Rio is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Blue Mantilla is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Moon River - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. Breakfast At Tiffany’s - Okay, I just talked about depth. After you’ve listened to Holly, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Experiment In Terror is outstanding work of Henry Mancini. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. Overall a nice softer song.
