Now signed to Henry Mancini’s Blue Note Records, the title track from second album “Music From The Films Of Blake Edwards” leads Henry Mancini’s back-to-school campaign. I am not a real Instrumental music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Music From The Films Of Blake Edwards’ really is amazing. This is the first studio album from Henry Mancini since bad diagnosis in 1991. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Mr. Lucky because the melody in the chorus is so good. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. I like the agression and power of Moon River. Such hits like Days Of Wine And Roses will leave you hooked. The Good Old Days I just LOVE this mix! Still going through Music From The Films Of Blake Edwards and coming to appreciate Experiment In Terror more and more with every listen. Soldier In The Rain is one of the best records ever. The sound of The Pink Panther Theme is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. I love the melodic melody of It Had Better Be Tonight and to this day it makes me feel good. The Sweetheart Tree is a cool sing-along. Pie In The Face Polka is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. In The Arms Of Love catches attention immediately, The Swing March on Music From The Films Of Blake Edwards is solid and easy to listen to. A Quiet Happening good vocals. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Theme For Sam from the beginning to the end. This track is clearly meant to showcase Henry Mancini’s vocal abilities. Nothing To Lose is a bit of a show-tune. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Music From The Films Of Blake Edwards. Whistling Away The Dark is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. The Inspector Clouseau Theme presents the gorgeous mix of instruments on Music From The Films Of Blake Edwards. It’s Easy To Say as a highlight of Music From The Films Of Blake Edwards contains a ton of marvelous melodies.
