Jazz Sound From Peter Gunn isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Jim Jones has compared writing for Henry Mancini’s new album to that on ‘Jazz Sound From Peter Gunn’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. This is the first studio album from Henry Mancini since bad diagnosis in 1994. This is my first Henry Mancini Album and i must say i am blown away.
Henry Mancini is hitting on all cylinders in Blue Steel. Brothers Go To Mother’s very upbeat. After about the third Session At Pete’s Pad listen through, I began to believe this song is Henry Mancini’s essence. Walkin Bass - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. Dreamsville still maintains something of a specific flourish. Henry Mancini allows each song to breathe and flourish. Sorta Blue is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. Goofin At The Coffee House (3:48) a good melody. Such hits like Quiet Gass will leave you hooked. Profound Gass as a highlight of Jazz Sound From Peter Gunn contains a ton of cool melodies. Fallout I just LOVE this mix! This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly. Soft Sounds is excellent and different song. Odd Ball is outstanding work of Henry Mancini. Floater great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.You have to get essence of the Blues For Mother’s’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. Brief & Breezy is one of my favorite songs by Henry Mancini. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Joanna from the beginning to the end. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. Ball For John is the song that really did it for me. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing.
