Since completing 1993’s ‘Changing Time’, Hemisphere fulfilled their contract with Savoy Records and where under no obligation to release another album. sixteen years ago, Hemisphere briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Backwoods Echo”. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Hemisphere’s album Outdoors falls to No. 2 with 489,000, a sales slide of 82%. To me Hemisphere is the best band ever.
Backwoods Echo - Check out that bassline! Switch one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Arctic Circle - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Side Walk - This one is lively and fun. Quiet Picture as a highlight of Outdoors contains a ton of marvelous melodies. Disentchantment is the albums biggest surprise. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. Outdoors is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song.
