When you buy a Hawkwind album, you know exactly what you’re getting! Lead single “Abducted-1″ and “Alien (I Am)” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Hawkwind’s debut, ‘Alien 4′, does not fit easily into one genre. Alien 4 touched my soul like nothing else.
Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. When listening to Reject Your Human Touch, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. Get Alien 4 and turn on Blue Skin if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Beam Me Up is a bit of a show-tune. Vega is probably the highlight of the album. This track is a great song that still never gets old. No Hawkwind song has come close to capturing my attention as Journey did. Sputnik Stan is the albums biggest surprise. Hawkwind emotions are reflected through Kapal. A unique and uplifting song. Death Trap is the more seemingly obscure song on Alien 4 that bear up best to repeated listening. Alien 4 couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Wastlands. Are You Losing Your Mind is the most memorable and cool.
