Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Happy Rhodes on ‘Feed The Fire’. Since Happy Rhodes last CD (Rhodesongs) on Blue Note Records back in 1993, I have felt a massive void in my life. This is the first studio album from Happy Rhodes since bad diagnosis in 1993. Overall, I would highly recommend Rhodesongs CD.
Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Voice and instruments in Ode complement each other. I Say is astounding. The song Save Our Souls ending is my favorite… so catchy! The Revelation is the album’s biggest hit, I think. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. If So one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Given In. In Hiding is one of the best records ever. I Have A Heart is a great opener for Rhodesongs. Nice and different song. Happy Rhodes allows each song to breathe and flourish. Temorary And Eternal to me is the best you can get from Happy Rhodes. Summer which is my favorite is a truly Happy Rhodes sounding song. Feed The Fire is the exquisite blend of moody yet optimistic tunes.
