Hans Zimmer’s debut, ‘Beyond Rangoon’, does not fit easily into one genre. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Hans Zimmer on ‘Village Under Siege’. I am not a real Soundtrack music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Beyond Rangoon’ really is amazing. If you love Hans Zimmer as much as I do, then Hans Zimmer Beyond Rangoon is the CD for you!
Beyond Rangoon is the more seemingly obscure song on Beyond Rangoon that bear up best to repeated listening. Our Ways Will Part is one of my favorite songs by Hans Zimmer. Brother Morphine is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Hans Zimmer released so far. Freedom from Fear is just simply stunning. I like I Dreamt I Woke Up because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Memories of the Dead - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Hans Zimmer. Waters of Irrawaddy is the album’s biggest hit, I think.
