Since Haddaway last CD (The Drive) on Mute Records back in 1995, I have felt a massive void in my life. The Drive isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. It’s natural for Haddaway to take a stab at ‘Fly Away’ considering her long-professed love for Azymuth. Oh yes, this album gets Array out of Array
I Know is a striking and quite long song. Breakaway is astounding. Lover Be Thy Name - A nice song. Charming song, great melody. Give It Up is a bit of a show-tune. Catch A Fire is the cool blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. All of songs on The Drive and have something to say letting alone Desert Prayer. The First Cut Is The Deepest is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. I have all of Haddaway’s tracks and Baby Don’t Go is probably the most his introspective effort. Freedom Is is gorgeous song though, very addictive. Another Day Without You is pretty funky and mellow.
