Gunter Schickert was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Gunter Schickert and Somnambul together. This album has some very good songs like Dig it and Torchter Der Meere. Somnambul isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. I Love Somnambul from start to finish!
Torchter Der Meere - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. Arabische Nacht is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. Dig It 2 have really caught my ear and imagination. Monkeys gives taste of what makes Gunter Schickert special as a musician. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Somnambul is Dig It 3. Blew our minds when we first heard In Der Zeit 1. In Now full palet of sound is used by Gunter Schickert to accentuate the presentation. Sirenen has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Gunter Schickert’s strong vocals come to the fore. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener.
