There is so much to love about Goran Bregovic, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. I am not a real Soundtrack music type of person, but i have to admit ‘La Reine Margot’ really is amazing. IF YOU LIKE ALL Goran Bregovic’S SONG GO FOR IT! Such great and happy songs.
I think Rondinella - Beograd Renaissance Ensemble/Zdravko Colic is the best song Goran Bregovic has ever done. La nuit de la Saint Barthelemy - Beograd Choir/Bojan Sudic/Zorc Gruic/Zdravko Colic - This one is lively and fun. The opening track Le matin - Beograd Choir/Bojan Sudic/Branka Vasic/Ognjen Radivojevic is very much like you would expect from other albums. Lullaby - Goran Bregovic - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Ruda Neruda - Beograd Renaissance Ensemble/Zdravko Colic one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Best song on the album, love it. La chasse - Pagan Ke/Zorz Gruic - My least favorite song on this album. Goran Bregovic sings his heart out in Margot - Beograd Choir/Bojan Sudic/Branka Vasic/Ognjen Radivojevic. Rencontre - Beograd PO is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Marguerite de Valois et Henri de Navarre - Daniele Thompson/Patrice Chereau - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Le mariage - Beograd Choir/Bojan Sudic/Ognjen Radivojevic/Pierre Pincemaille has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Goran Bregovic’s strong vocals come to the fore. La nuit - Beograd Choir/Bojan Sudic/Dusan Prelevic is the albums biggest surprise. You have to get essence of the Elo Hi - Ofra Haza’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece.
