Lead single “My Ambition” and “One More” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This album has some very good songs like My Ambition and One More. This eleven-song debut EP shows the promise that Girlschool has. One of Girlschool’s best albums yet.
The song One More ending is my favorite… so catchy! I can’t stop humming along Can’t Say No. After about the third Wild At Heart listen through, I began to believe this song is Girlschool’s essence. Can’t Do That is simple, dignified and effective, Girlschool refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. You have to get essence of the We Came’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. Can’t Keep A Good Girl Down - For me, this is the best of the album. Put Sitting Pretty into car stereo for your highway driving On My Way have really caught my ear and imagination. Take Me I’m Yours is a romantic if not formulaic ditty.
