It has been eleven years Gino Soccio’ last studio CD, “The Best Of Gino Soccio” which won Array Grammy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. The Best Of Gino Soccio carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. There is so much to love about Gino Soccio, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
Still going through The Best Of Gino Soccio and coming to appreciate Try It Out more and more with every listen. In The Visitors (Remix) the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Turn It Around (Extended Mix) is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Simple and heartfelt closing track It’s Allright closes The Best Of Gino Soccio on a high note. Human Nature one is one of the better boring ones. Gino Soccio must have run out of lyrics on the next track S-Beat. Hold Tight (5:18) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Les Visiteurs is such a gorgeous and optimistic song that things can get just better. I think Remember (Remix) is the best song Gino Soccio has ever done. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Megamix.
