It’s natural for Gheorghe Zamfir to take a stab at ‘Love Changes Everything’ considering her long-professed love for Green Grey. Lead single “Love Changes Everything” and “Unchained Melody” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Gheorghe Zamfir had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. Smart music for smart people.
Unchained Melody - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. Album opener Somewhere is a bright, upbeat ditty. Theme From ‘Limelight’ is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Pan Pipe Dreams. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. Just The Way You Are can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Gheorghe Zamfir is all about. Don’t Cry For Me Argentina is another favourite of mine. Black Rose is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. The first time I listened to Memory I was struck by its perfect sound. Beautiful Dream is probably one of Gheorghe Zamfir’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Endless Love is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. Still going through Pan Pipe Dreams and coming to appreciate Your Song more and more with every listen. Bilitis is beautiful, yet underrated track. So much energy, so exciting a sound.The Rose which is my favorite is a truly Gheorghe Zamfir sounding song. Run To Me as a highlight of Pan Pipe Dreams contains a ton of excellent melodies. Serenade is a good listen every once in a while. I like the agression and power of Only Love.
