Jim Jones has compared writing for Garth Brooks’s new album to that on ‘The Hits’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Garth Brooks energies, virtually a rebirth. The Hits is an amazing album, racked with beauty.I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Garth Brooks ever.
Friends In Low Places is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Callin’ Baton Rouge is a very catchy tune. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Garth Brooks. After few listenings I started to like Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old) more and more. Garth Brooks offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. American Honky-Tonk Bar Association is a medium tempo tune. If Tomorrow Never Comes stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Unanswered Prayers is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. Standing Outside The Fire pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Rodeo - Check out that bassline! What She’s Doing Now is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Excellent vocals and musical performances. Papa Loved Mama is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. I love the melodic melody of Shameless and to this day it makes me feel good. Two Of A Kind, Workin’ On A Full House is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Garth Brooks sings That Summer in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in The Hits.
