Self-described as Blues with lots of words, Funkdoobiest comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Funkdoobiest’s album Brothas Doobie falls to No. 2 with 485,000, a sales slide of 59%. John Digester has compared writing for Funkdoobiest’s new album to that on ‘Brothas Doobie’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Enjoy the show.
One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Rock On. What The Deal presents the gorgeous mix of instruments on Brothas Doobie. Funkdoobiest must have run out of lyrics on the next track Lost In Thought. I can’t stop humming along Dedicated. Ka Sera Sera - Check out that bassline! Pussy Ain’t Shit has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. I loved XXX Funk the first time I heard it. It Ain’t Going Down - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. Tomahawk Bang is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. Superhoes is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Who Ra Ra can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Funkdoobiest is all about.
