After seeing Trapeze Freak, I had to have a good Fu Manchu cd. Fu Manchu’s debut, ‘Daredevil’, does not fit easily into one genre. Daredevil carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. I wish that “Daredevil” album was instrumental.
Tilt gives taste of what makes Fu Manchu special as a musician. Gathering Speed is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. Once you hear Travel Agent, you will listen to it over and over. Sleestak is just simply stunning. Fu Manchu sings Space Farm in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. Fu Manchu breathes new life into the music in Lug. Egor is perfect. Wurkin’ (3:37) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. A unique and uplifting song.
