This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. Days Gone By is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. What sets Tango Bittersweet apart is Fred Hersch’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. Child’s Song have really caught my ear and imagination. Janeology is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. In Phantom Of The Bopera Fred Hersch spins a tale you want to hear to the end. Lullabye is the first taste of the new album. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Foreward Motion is really a nice song to relax and listen too. …Departed… gets you up and jumping. After about the third Frevo listen through, I began to believe this song is Fred Hersch’s essence. Simple and heartfelt closing track Nostalgia closes Forward Motion on a high note.
