Lead single “Intro” and “Dog Breath Variations” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. It has been eight years Frank Zappa’ last studio CD, “The Yellow Shark” which won Array Academy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. After seeing Intro, I had to have a good Frank Zappa cd. Overall, I would highly recommend The Yellow Shark CD.
Dog Breath Variations is another strong production from Frank Zappa. This track is full of harmonies and gets The Yellow Shark off to a relaxing start. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. Times Beach Ii is the marvelous blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Iii Revised - My least favorite song on this album. It’s a great pleasure to listen to The Girl In Magnesium Dress from the beginning to the end. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. Ruth Is Sleeping is absolutely incredible. None Of The Above is really the reason why I recommend buying The Yellow Shark. Pentagon Afternoon is one of my favorite songs by Frank Zappa. Questi Cazzi Piccione is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. Some of the arrangements found on The Yellow Shark are surprisingly edgy. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Welcome To The United States is my favorite song on The Yellow Shark. Frank Zappa emotions are reflected through Pound For A Brown. Lyrics of Exercise #4 are precise and evocative. Get Whitey has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. G-Spot Tornado is really a nice song to relax and listen too.
