While no new Frank Zappa album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1995 tour in Europe. After seeing Don’t Eat The Yellow Snow, I had to have a good Frank Zappa cd. two years ago, Frank Zappa briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Nanook Rubs It”. Frank Zappa is one of my favourite bands of all time.
Nanook Rubs It (4:38) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! This track is clearly meant to showcase Frank Zappa’s vocal abilities. Father O’Blivion is a good listen every once in a while. Cosmik Debris had me crying as I was able to relate so well. Excentrifugal Forz is one of the coolest songs Frank Zappa has ever recorded. I can’t stop playing Apostrophe’. Simple and heartfelt closing track Uncle Remus closes Apostrophe on a high note. As always, Frank Zappa’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again.
