Self-described as Rock: Pop-Rock with lots of words, Filter comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Since Filter last CD (Short Bus) on Capitol Records back in 1995, I have felt a massive void in my life. Short Bus isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Short Bus is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
Filter offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. Under is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Spent is a good listen every once in a while. Filter sings his heart out in Take Another. Simple and heartfelt closing track Stuck In Here closes Short Bus on a high note. It’s Over rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Gerbil. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. Overall a nice softer song. After few listenings I started to like So Cool more and more.
