It has been six years Fairport Convention’ last studio CD, “What We Did on Our Holidays” which won Array Emmy� Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Fairport Convention’s debut, ‘What We Did on Our Holidays’, does not fit easily into one genre. This is one of the best Cd’s Fairport Convention has dropped to date. Only one song from What We Did on Our Holidays named Mr. Lacey really got me. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in What We Did on Our Holidays. It took me a little time but I ended up loving ‘The Lord Is In This Place…How Dreadful Is This Place. No Man’s Land - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Vocals of Fairport Convention in I’ll Keep It With Mine really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Eastern Rain is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Nottamun Town - Fairport Convention first major hit. Tale In A Hard Time is another favourite of mine. I love the melodic melody of She Moves Through The Fair and to this day it makes me feel good. Music and lyrics of Meet On The Ledge creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. End Of A Holiday has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album.
