On the Canada charts, superstar Eric Clapton’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Since Eric Clapton last CD (The Cream of Clapton) on Capitol Records back in 1995, I have felt a massive void in my life. There is no doubt that Eric Clapton has talent. Enjoy the show.
I can’t Stand It - This is a very lively song. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. This is probably my favorite song on the album. First time I heard Wonderful Tonight was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Knockin’ On Heavens Door has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Eric Clapton’s strong vocals come to the fore. Lay Down Sally is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. After Midnight - Okay, I just talked about depth. I now have I Shot The Sheriff as one of my personal favorites. Cocaine is one of the more up-tempo songs on The Cream of Clapton. I loved Bell Bottom Blues the first time I heard it. Once you hear White Room, you will listen to it over and over. Strange Brew still maintains something of a specific flourish. Eric Clapton emotions are reflected through Crossroads. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on The Cream of Clapton is Sunshine Of Your Love. I Feel Free is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. Listening to Badge you can hear that Eric Clapton has still amazing chemistry with band members. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion.
