When you buy a Eric Andersen album, you know exactly what you’re getting! This album has some very good songs like Belgian Bar and Spanish Steps. Bun B. Hear has compared writing for Eric Andersen’s new album to that on ‘Ghosts Upon the Road’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. If I may, I suggest “Belgian Bar”. That one song is amazing!
What sets Spanish Steps apart is Eric Andersen’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. I like to sing along with It Starts With A Lie, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. In Trouble In Paris it becomes nowhere more obvious that Eric Andersen has yet to define own style. Listen To The Rain is a striking and quite long song. Ghosts Upon The Road gives good insight into the truths. Too Many Times (I Will Try) - A strong beat. Carry Me Away - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. Once you hear Six Senses Of Darkness, you will listen to it over and over. Eric Andersen has astounded me with this amazing track.
