Ennio Morricone had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. There is so much to love about Ennio Morricone, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. For older fans Dario Argento Trilogy will put a massive smile accross your face. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
It took me a little time but I ended up loving There’s No One Left. The City Wakes Up can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Ennio Morricone is all about. The first time I listened to The Bird With The Crystal Plumage I was struck by its astounding sound. Silence In The Chaos is probably the highlight of the album. Unexpected Violence - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. Lullaby In Blue is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Ennio Morricone released so far. Blew our minds when we first heard 1970. First Paranoia is one of these floating songs. Dissociation sets the tone for the entire album. Last Metaphor is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. The Spot actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Ennio Morricone’s face. I’ve found myself listening to Four Flies On Grey Velvet back to back and back many times. Voice and instruments in Suite complement each other. Once Like A Madrigal gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. Interview is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Dario Argento Trilogy.
