Instruments of Devotion isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Emam and Friends’s album Instruments of Devotion falls to No. 2 with 865,000, a sales slide of 65%. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Emam and Friends energies, virtually a rebirth. This album is a scorcher!
Raghu Nanadan as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. After about the third Hanuman Chalisa listen through, I began to believe this song is Emam and Friends’s essence. Amba Amba is probably the most interesting track on Instruments of Devotion. Arti is really a nice song to relax and listen too. Best song on the album, love it. Shankara Daya is the cool blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. What sets Teri Sharan apart is Emam and Friends’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. Sankirtan is absolutely incredible. Kali Kali Ma is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses.
