On The One album, Elton John have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. For older fans The One will put a massive smile accross your face. This is one of the best Cd’s Elton John has dropped to date. This album is awesome.
On Dark Street - Check out that bassline! Outside of the singles, my favorite song on The One is Runaway Train. Elton John has astounded me with this amazing track. Sweat It Out as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. The Last Song has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. Vocals of Elton John in The North really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. The One is pretty funky and mellow. Understanding Women is such a marvelous and optimistic song that things can get just better. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Whitewash County is new, fresh, and hypnotizing.
