This is the first studio album from Elakelaiset since bad diagnosis in 1995. three years ago, Elakelaiset briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Pyjamahumppa”. Self-described as Folk with lots of words, Elakelaiset comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Enjoy the show.
Elakelaiset must have run out of lyrics on the next track Pyjamahumppa. Sorvarin Humppa is absolutely incredible. Sortohumppa is another strong production from Elakelaiset. Elakelaiset is the amazing blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Some call Komerohumppa from Humpan Kuninkaan Hovissa as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Elakelaiset is hitting on all cylinders in Surinajenkka. Elakelaiset sings Tarakkihumppa in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. This song may be the most meaningful. Pata Pata stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. I like the idea behind Ryhtivaliohumppa. Elakelaiset emotions are reflected through Orpopojan Humppa. You can find feelings on this piece of art. After about the third Sisupussihumppa listen through, I began to believe this song is Elakelaiset’s essence. Humppaleka is the first taste of the new album. Opening track Konttaushumppa shows the best of Elakelaiset. Humppaan Itsekseni the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. Kiitoratahumppa is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. One listen to the sheer beauty of Kuka Humpan Seisauttaa? was all I needed. Humppaa Tai Kuole! (2:07) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Aamupalahumppa I just LOVE this mix! Pata Pata gives good insight into the truths. Elakelaiset rocks harder than ever with Komerotekno. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. Luikurihumppa which is my favorite is a truly Elakelaiset sounding song. Paaton Humppa is a fine track on any terms.
