Since completing 1994’s ‘Ein Wiegenlied’, Diary Of Dreams fulfilled their contract with EMI Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Cholymelan carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Diary Of Dreams had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
The song feels complete. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. Don’t judge War On A Meadow on the first listening. Holier Than Thou Approach (4:43) - awsome. False Affection, False Creation is a song to enjoy for years to come. And Silence Still Remains - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Phantasmogoria the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. To Conquer The Angel’s Laugh - Check out that bassline! In Cholymelan full palet of sound is used by Diary Of Dreams to accentuate the presentation. Between The Clouds is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. The Stranger Remains is outstanding work of Diary Of Dreams. Music and lyrics of Bird Without Wings creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Winter’s Decay is pretty funky and mellow.
