This album has some very good songs like Bored and Minus Blindfold. It has been eleven years Deftones’ last studio CD, “Adrenaline” which won Array Grammy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Since Deftones last CD (Adrenaline) on Blue Note Records back in 1995, I have felt a massive void in my life. One of Deftones’s best albums yet.
From the moment you listen to Minus Blindfold you’re hooked. I find myself hearing bits of One Weak here and there throughout my waking hours. No Deftones song has come close to capturing my attention as Nosebleed did. Lifter - My least favorite song on this album. Root is probably the highlight of the album. 7 Words - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. Birthmark is really a nice song to relax and listen too. Engine No 9 stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. Voice and instruments in Return (Bonus Track) complement each other.
