David Knopfler was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from David Knopfler and The Giver together. For older fans The Giver will put a massive smile accross your face. After seeing Mercy With The Wine, I had to have a good David Knopfler cd. This is what good Country should be.
Hey Jesus is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything David Knopfler released so far. Domino - A classic David Knopfler track. Every Line is outstanding work of David Knopfler. How Many Times is a very catchy tune. Love Knows is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Lover’s Fever is the more seemingly obscure song on The Giver that bear up best to repeated listening. I’ve found myself listening to Carry On back to back and back many times. One listen to the sheer beauty of The Giver Of Gifts was all I needed. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Southside Tenements is my favorite song on The Giver. A Father and A Son is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Always - This is a very lively song.
