Lead single “No No No” and “Fallaway” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. On Sugar Mouth album, David Kilgour have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Last Hot Album by David Kilgour
Lyrics of Fallaway are precise and evocative. 1987 which is my favorite is a truly David Kilgour sounding song. I can’t stop humming along Filter. Beached is the albums biggest surprise. Nail In My Foot as a highlight of Sugar Mouth contains a ton of perfect melodies. Waiting Round On You one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of David Kilgour. Listen To The Rain is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. Musically Look At It is superior to other tracks in Sugar Mouth. Recollection is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Never End catches attention immediately, You have to get essence of the Winter (Session Out Take)’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. David Kilgour breathes new life into the music in Look At It (El Speedo, Session Out Take). Filter (Demo) - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Nail In My Foot (Demo) - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites.
