Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Dan Gibson on ‘Swan Lake (Tchaikovsky)’. There is so much to love about Dan Gibson, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. After seeing Swan Lake (Tchaikovsky), I had to have a good Dan Gibson cd. Unappreciated gift to New Age
Lyrics of Trois Gymnopedies (Satie) are precise and evocative. This song may be the most meaningful. Las Meninas (Faure) is a good listen every once in a while. Dan Gibson emotions are reflected through Les Sylphides (Chopin). No Dan Gibson song has come close to capturing my attention as Carnival Of The Animals (Saint-Saens) did. In Tale Of The Young Prince and The Young Princess (Korsakov) it becomes nowhere more obvious that Dan Gibson has yet to define own style. Sleeping Beauty (Tchaikovsky) has a fun tempo. Dan Gibson allows each song to breathe and flourish. Song Giselle (Adam) is actually a funny song.
